●● Mardi Gras! ●●
It was MARDI GRAS 2006 in sydney yesterday, 04/03/06. Madness, craziness and hell lot of eye-opening experiences. Lol. It was so darn crowded, everyone is squeezing to get past each other. Some people simply stink of sweat and alcohol. *-_-* Labels: OZ-oz
Ying and I went with some friends, some malaysian friends. They're really nice and they showed us around. They're all doing commerce and business kind of degrees. *$$* We even had our horoscopes deciphered by one of them using a book 'Kirei'. Pretty accurate in some areas only. I think i wanna get hold of that book and start a part time career as a fortune teller.
The people at mardi gras are mad. Sometimes, they would just grab hold of anyone and kiss. *-_-* Some chicks are dressed like up like a bomb, wearing nothing, with just flower garlands around their necks, long enough to cover up part of their breasts. As for their bottoms, of course, they weren't wearing much too, except their hand-made-rafia-strings-hawaiian-dresses-look-alike. yup. That's all they wear. Some don't even bother to wear at all. They drew heart-shapes on their lovely v.v.white butts.
It looked like chingay parade just that they parade gays/lesbians holding banners, yelling out to people to support them. Banner like "Religions made people homophobia" caught my attention. Hahaha. Madness. We had to run, climb, jump, stand and squeeze to look at the parade. A pity that we came a little too late because most of the 'good' places were 'chopped' by those selfish angmohs who refused to share a little space.
There were many people who drank and threw their bottles all around. So as we walked, i was on triple alert for any smashed glass pieces or dangerous beer bottles who could tripped us. And i inhaled so so so freaking much 2nd hand smoke until i feel that my lungs are so 'dirty' now. Eeeeekks!
However, it's a brand new experience of overseas culture, which is so tolerant towards gay/lesbians/bisexuals. They call themselves the QUEER culture. yup. I bet if they do parade like that in singapore, they probably get thrown at. Lol. It's so tiring after the 'high-ness'. But I did enjoy myself. However, maybe next time, either i get there early early or i'll just stay at home to watch the live broadcast.
But, i just realized that there's probably no next time. Unless next year when i come back for my graduation ceremony *that-is-if-i-pass*, probably it'll be in march. Since mardi gras is in march too, so, maybe maybe i can see it again :)
