Edison no Haha <エジソンの母>
I fell in love with this little boy. Shimizu Yuya, starred as 'Hanafusa Kento', first-grader in Monbu Elementary School. He's a very very very very very very very very adorable boy with a huge sense of curiosity. He will never left anything passed him without clarifying his doubts, even if it means getting into troubles. The guardians of other children dislike him and once, a teacher said that his brain was rotten. However, his mother patiently care for and believe in him.
Kento reminded me of the reason why we are all learning each day. I really love him a lot!! He's so cute, with such pinchable cheeks and a truly interesting attitude.
And anyone aspiring to be a teacher would be inspired by this show. Our education system is truly similar to that of the Japanese's system, as expected of an Asian culture. Students are expected to be 'good'. The definition of a good student is one who doesn't disturb the class order, one who doesn't question the teacher or rules, one who should sit quietly with hands on the lap.
I'm very affected by this definition. It's indeed true that the Western countries inculcate a different studying culture. Students are free to criticise the teachers or theories. And in fact, they encourage such interactions in class.
That's probably why I love studying in Sydney. It was so refreshing from our usual style. At the beginning, we were all taken aback and rather afraid to approach. Before we knew it, we were all engaging actively in all our classes, selecting various literatures and researches, critiquing their validities or research methods. It was intriguing debating with one another, squeezing our braincells and considering theories from varying perspectives.
It will indeed be absolutely dejecting if I live life as it passes. There are just so much that I still want to learn. And it will be so fun raising such a kid :)
This j-drama was inspired by the background of Thomas Edison.
The Story of Thomas Edison
In school, the young Edison's mind often wandered, and his teacher, the Reverend Engle, was overheard calling him "rotted." This ended Edison's three months of official schooling. He recalled later, "My mother was the making of me. She was so true, so sure of me; and I felt I had something to live for, someone I must not disappoint." His mother then home schooled him.
'Hanafusa Aoi' and 'Hanafusa Kento'
'Noriko-sensei' and 'Kento-kun' - First day in school
'Assistant Professor' who was so interested in this prodigy
Kento was busy asking why '1+1=2'. According to him, '1+1' is more than 2.
Kento tried to jump off the building because he was interested why birds could fly but humans couldn't.
!!! So lovable!!
Kento was talking to a mathematician, a genius with regards to the structure of the Universe.
Kento was trying to invent a time machine and he thought he teleported.
Kento read about the solar system and was shocked to find that the Sun will die in 5 billions years time.
Kento explained the theory to his classmates and all of them wanted to protect Earth.
They were all having fun!!
All of them wanted to do 'Little Red Riding Hood' and changed the storyline. Kento helped by contributing an intelligent paradox thought up by himself.
The goose explaining to little Red Riding Hood. Hee, she likes him.
Our little goose!
Noriko sensei! Ito Misaki :)
Cute?? HAHAHA, I think he is so so cute!
All of them are burying a time capsule.
Kento's machine of happiness
Kento was saying 'Sayonara' to his friends because he was forced to leave school. He presented them with his invention (flag-riser) as a good bye gift. It's a machine involving electromagnets and electric charge. He's our Little King of Invention.
He came back to school :)) to study 2nd grade with his friends.
It's amazing how Yuya and the other kids could memorise the script. It was really filled with scientific terms and theories. Definitely listing this show as my fave.

Anyway, i had been packing and watching Hi5. Really fallen in love with this kid show. LOL.
The weather was so cold, with temp dropping to 8.3 C in the midst of summer. -_-
There was hail and snow storm and bush fire all over australia. Messed up. Blue mountains turning into black mountains with all those char.

Ying and I FINALLY made our way to the zoo. WE WERE DETERMINED TO SEE THE KOALAS AND KANGAROOS. If not, how to answer when people ask us?! Labels: OZ-oz
So we went to Circular Quay and ate a yummy icecream on board a ferry. Damn those flies were irritating. Hovering all over us in slow motion. Spring's time full of such flies.
Anyway, we had an AWESOME time exploring the zoo and camera whoring. Lol. F-U-N! We had our dinner at 大长今. Beautiful boss wearing the traditional costume :)
Oh, and i claimed my FCUK umbrella from siti already! love her. thx sweetie!

Aloy, ying and i cooked our first jap curry in sydney. It was really messy cos alot of ingredients ain't complete. Not like singapore. And somehow it turned oh-so-watery. But nvm, we had a GREAT time eating and chilling out. We haven't been meeting in aloy's room for a long time ever since the start of the 2nd sem. Guess everyone's busy. Aloy's so tied up with his publication and of course, we are frantic over our essays. Anyway, we had a great night :) Labels: OZ-oz

●● SHOPPING!! ●●
A whole bunch of us went BIRKENHEAD POINT to shop!! Angela, Emily, Raychel, Sayli, Siti, Peiying and I :) Labels: OZ-oz
Birkenhead Point Shopping Centre, at Drummoyne, is the only place in Sydney where you can shop whilst enjoying the spectacular views of Sydney Harbour and browsing through a huge range of your favourite fashion, food and lifestyle brands. Birkenhead Point is Sydney’s original factory outlet centre, a site rich with heritage; the development of Birkenhead Point can be dated back to the early 1800’s.
Afterwhich, Raychel, Siti, Ying and I went to eat Korean food at Min Sok Chon. It was the first time the few of us really talked and ate together. Somehow, i felt a barrier between the new girls and us. And so, we didn't get to know ray and siti well. The MONSTER had stirred up pretty loads of trouble between the new girls themselves and of course, amongst all of us. Really disgusting.
Anyway, all of us had a divine time, having girlish chats and enjoying ourselves :)

We didn't want to head home at such early hours so we hung around world square and market city. But no shops are open :( horrible night life.
So we went over to the broadway pub to have our lil drinks :) what a relaxing day :)

●● I Must Be Mad ●●
I didn't know there's so much to a piece of technology. Have you ever thought about the philosophy behind every technology? The pen you have, the protocols you're following, the computer you are using. I'm in awe. *after-nursing-knowledge-practice-lesson-syndrome* Absolutely philosophical and political. I didn't even learn about our hot sunny island's politics, and i came all the way here to learn about oz's politics -_- Labels: OZ-oz
---
Anyway, i went grocery after lessons. I spent $80 just on groceries. I must be mad. Today i'm pampering myself ALOT. Doting on my poor broken tired soul. My fruits alone cost me $20 (2boxes of mulberries (ex-ex-ex), 1box of strawberries, 1box of goldenkiwis). A pack of unsalted macadamia nuts (ex-ex-ex). 1 box of Almond bread biscuit. 6packs of yoghurt. And my beloved addiction ~ Droste's White Blanc Chocolat!!! The rest's the usual vegs, mushrooms and staple.
Nivea's having sale :) i bought a bottle of moisturiser (to make my skin white and smooth), a bottle of hand moisturiser (i really love its smell), and the refreshing toner (to make my face smooth, ooo..). Pardon my vainess~ Need to pamper myself. my skin's like the rocky mountain's road :"( and i'm Queen today.
But if i could, i would fly back to sg to get hold of that Cellnique sebum. *omigosh* my craving for it increases each day whenever i read my friend's blog. Her skin has simply transformed. The miracle of technology~ (no pun intended).

Death note's anime is out!!!!! *omigosh* i'm so blessed~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ouran's no more. sob. any 2nd series? *please?*

●● Happy Children's Day! ●●
Today is children's day!!! So happie :)
Yesterday, angela, aloy, peiying and i went out for a sinful, yummy-licious german dinner. Clarence joined us later on :) The two boys were mourning for the loss of sydney swans, scolding and grumbling for the loss in AFL games. I really can't understand why guys are so affected by soccer matches. *shakes head*
Anyway, german dinner is really meaty and big portion. A plate of it costs us Aud$68. Ex right? But their sausages are HUGE! *amazed* We had a treat from aloy ~ German beer. I tried their speciality: non-alcoholic beer. Super right? Wanted to taste if its different from those alcholic beer. I would say its very very bitter. Hmm, i really like their different kinds of sausages and the special sour cabbage.
We headed down to a restuarant at circular quay to wait for clarence to eat his dinner while we had our drinks. I drank lemon lime bitters :) Afterwhich, we asked emily and her bf out for coffee at glebe. Lovely italiano cafe but i dont like their gelato there. Looks nice but it doesnt taste good :( bluff young girls' hearts. sob.
Absolutely great day out :)

●● Pre-Mooncake Celebration! ●●
Woohoo! We had LOADS of tangyuan (and i really mean alot), mooncake and longan soup. In addition, Liz brought us DUCK!!! *omigosh* We had duck rice :) i miss singapore's braised duck rice so so so much :( Labels: OZ-oz
It was my first time watching shrek. I was pretty amazed by the greenie thing with 2 cute ears. Quite appealing. It's like all the fairy tales churned together. Heyhey, guess im still young since i enjoy watching such shows :) *beams*
I didnt eat much mooncake. I wonder why did people like mooncake?! It's so devilish-ing sweet. Eek. And there's a so-salty-eggyork in it?!
I don't know, maybe thats my personal preference. There should be mooncake lite. You know, as in those coke lite, lays classic lite. I think it will be so much nicer.
But just meeting up a group of us (emily, rongwen, clarence, aloy, liz, lynn, py and me) is quite enjoyable, sitting down, eating, chatting and laughing.
I like~
