●● A Breather ●●
Today's my time-off rest day! Finally had my haircut and colored it :) I've been procrastinating about it for the longest time ever.
My week has been action-packed! Suntec seminar, giving a presentation to night nurses at Gleneagles, a photography shoot at Mt E's garden, and meeting a psychiatric patient in the midst of it all. Today tops it all, my patient passed on this morning which really struck a chord in my heart. Plus i've received news that i'm going away to KL next weekend after the Vietnamese support group meeting. Wow.
But i'm glad to have the day to myself, doing loads and loads of laundry, finalising the lung cancer presentation, and doing some statistics for the monthly report.
Btw, i fell in love with a japanese highly concentrated milk candy. One word: heavenly.

I've received a letter and the enclosed package with tonnes and millions of joy, all the way from faraway sydney. My cells are practically bursting with such happiness. I thought it had passed, and i told myself to let it go, since it's a invitation-only entry. Labels: LIFE, SCHOOL Days
Even if i'm willing to pay the expensive membership fees, I can't even join as a member if i'm not invited to the academic honour society. And so with that, I've put the little thought out of my mind :(
But right now, in my hands, I've the invitation letter!! I never thought that i had the fate to own this prestige and recognition of scholastic achievements. Thanks!!!!!!! *shouts out loud, box the sky*

Anyway, we caught Little Britain and were laughing at their damn gay jokes. Super lame ok! But i got to admit that they're hilarious.
And, we had yummmy dinner by mommy while watching 'The Hospital'. This show is getting really exciting, especially with the new in-charge(s) around. Lovee it. But if i have to choose a fave, i would still prefer the jap version. It's more focused and the jap actors portrayed the emotions better!

●● Finally ... A Call ●●
Finally, it was a call at those ungodly hours (erm, at least to me 9am is ungodly). Couldn't help but started clearing my throat unconsciously before i start squawking and damaging my image.
Julie and Susan sounded really nice on the phone, especially Susan who was explaining to me about their onco specialisation :) No wonder they are from HR.
Although it was just a call for me to re-send my CV (because they can't open latest eds. of pdf files -_-), but i'm thankful enough! Thank you my dearest god :).
I was just thinking to myself yesterday. Jobless people cannot be choosers. Maybe i was too fussy, too stubborn, and too 死心眼 about my desired job. Can't help but getting a little low morale. Although i really do understand that i could easily get a position at the local hospitals as a general ward staff nurse, BUT!!! ultimately, my heart desires a psychiatric setting. :((
Is it really so difficult? I'm beginning to believe that its undoubtedly challenging. Mom's been so easy on me :)) She feels that i don't need to rush to work and could take my time to relax. But i can't help but feel a little tinge of descend as i continue to rot at home, wash and cook, almost like a full time 黄脸婆. obasan~
I guess its my form of long vacation. When the time comes for me to work, i will do my very best. I promise.

●● Hazardous Crocs ●●
Today, on my way to my optician, an old man fell in the midst of the road. He had left side weakness, (probably the after-effects of a stroke) and was shuffling slowly with the help of his cane. It was such a dangerous situation, with the upcoming traffic from all directions. Labels: LIFE, Sweet Appreciations, VAIN Days
However, the drivers all slowed down for him. Some cars even stopped moving. One young man (truck driver) even alighted to help him up (pleasantly surprised at the rare Singaporean kindness:)). I was wondering if i should go up to him too. The nursing ethics in me were ringing so loudly that i ran to help in a flash.
He was wearing HAZARDOUS crocs which flipped whilst he was crossing the traffic junction. He fell. -_- faints. How dangerous could it be?! SUPER MENACING lor!
After assessing him to be OK :), i continued to my destination. He kept thanking us :))))
I wonder, what happens if a person collapses within my sight. My CPR cert has expired. Should i still do CPR? Or wait for someone to come? Dilemma. But i guess, i would still do the CPR. Cos seconds and minutes are VITAL in resuscitation. I wouldn't be so suay to encounter such dilemma right? :O
This is my CROCS. Cute right? Lurrve it! My fave footwear when i was in sydney :) Hope it doesn't give me SCA-A-ARY accidents although i've almost flipped quite a few times.
My FAVE is now replaced by my Birkenstock Papillio Madrid English Garden White (my 21st birthday present from darr)! 'Seasoning' it already :) COMFY!

Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day Labels: LIFE
As opposed to last year's festive moods, it was distinctly more enjoyable for me this year (2007). 2006 was a tough year, every issues that were revolving around made me feel like i was treading on thin ice. My departure date was 15 Feb 2006, a day right after Vday. Hence, as predicted, my vday was in shambles, feeling awful and teary. aww. CNY was also jittery, because of the impending trip.
This year is different! We spent a proper day for Vday :) with dinner at marche and a simple stroll along orchard Takashimaya. I got a Braun Buffel's set, lined with two white tote and pouch. Lovely! In the morning, i even got to meet Dexter for lunch at Suntec. We had a good time reminiscing and discussing. I guess, there was pretty much alot of common topics between us, especially since we all had our own version of fantabulous time in Aus, namely Perth and Sydney respectively.
CNY was so unconventional this year, starting from the eve's dinner till today. I had a terrific, superb time :) ooo, especially the black jack. THUMBS UP! Really had lotsa fun with my cousins this year :)

Been down with an evil upper respiratory tract infection. Runny and red nose, tissues, sneezing, sorethroat, sexy voice, fever, a little breathless and very much fatigue, i had it all. I'm always scared of resp infection, lest my asthma decides to act up. Awful~ Labels: LIFE

On days when it was actually wednesday or thursday, i've a persistent belief that it is only monday or tuesday. Visited my fave haunt to borrow some novels (indulgence!). Haven't been reading much (only read Kate's latest work: Sex, Lies and Fairytales and re-read Memoirs of A Geisha) since my return from sydney. I wish Kate Thompson and Patricia Scanlan would publish more works. I'm a HUGE FAN of their Irish stories. Amazing authors.
And, i met up with mom to settle our joint-banking issues.
Plus i've sent off my resume earlier on and i'm currently awaiting replies.
(no choice ~, have been nagged at umpteen times. gotta find a job and make myself useful.)

Today met up with besties for dinner at Fisherman's Village. Meal at the sea side, with cool sea breeze all around us. We had mee goreng, hor fun, fried rice and fisherman's noodles and lots of satay. Sounds weird for a dinner at the sea. But i love the gathering. Lots of silly jokes and borat-ing. ●● A Fantabulous Holiday ●●
It has been an immensely enjoyable holiday, booking a flight back, checking in and flying back all on my own. It was an intriguing adventure, exploring the airport and flight and everything :) Even checking in was fun. Lol. Labels: LIFE
Back in singapore, i met up with my most precious people:) my family!! daa!! my besties!! and of course, other very v.v.close friends. It was simply blissful to see them, people who are genuine, and love me for who i am. I lurve you all so much :) *mmuack*
I've eaten all the food that i missed so much, duck rice! popiah! curry! mee rebus! dumpling noodles! fishball noodles! chicken rice! pumpkin rice! durians! ramen! bubble tea! and so much more.. Yum yum :p *blurps*
Life's been so immensely perfect, having time out and purely enjoying rotting around. This holiday is definitely one of a true heartfelt holiday. In the past school holidays were nothing much, just days where i didn't have to wake up early to study. This time around, school holidays meant so much. Even though it was short, it was uplifting and nourishing to my tired soul.

Now, after holidays, im back in sydney after an 8hours overnight flight, back in my own apartment. I feel alot better, and almost ready to start work. Recharge :) I'll work hard and finish school soon :)
This semester is going to be so fun with my fave psychiatric module. I'M SO LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO STUDY THAT. Thank you whoever that's up there, You have been so kind to edit the semester timetable and removed the modules' clashes. THANK YOU!
Also, with an upcoming research module, it's going to be so interesting preparing for it, but definitely a v.v.dry module when it comes to exams. Nevermind, i'll handle it in my stride.
Meanwhile, i enjoy these few days before school starts. And!! IT'S CHRISTMAS IN JULY HERE IN SYDNEY!! *merry xmas everyone :)* Winter's fabulous, cold and it's time to get cosy in front of the heater or log fire.
